Sharing Economics / Internet of Things.
KTH participates in a national project to develop sharing economy, “sharing cities”. KTH has chosen Hammarby Sjöstad as the test bed for the project, which runs over three and a half years after launch in autumn 2017 and it will continue until December 2020. KTH will, among other things, develop digital platforms for sharing services. ElectriCITY is the host organization and coordinating force at the local level. Through this digital development work, the intention is to make Hammarby Sjöstad a demo for Internet of Things / 5G in collaboration with, Ericsson, KTH and others. One such project ”Lånelådan” (”The Borrow Box”) is a hub for sharing tools, sports equipment and more among neighbors. The project started in 2019 in collaboration with Husqvarna Tools for Urban Farming and also includes delivery of packages, the last link in the e-commerce chain.
In the beginning of 2019 ElectriCITY and Sharing Cities started a series of workshops under the name of ”Klimatspanarna” (The Climate Scouts). This was done in order to broaden the climate awareness among the citizens of Hammarby Sjöstad. The workshop target groups are children between the ages of 10-12 years and their parents. We create hands-on solutions together with the participants showing what you can do as an individual to create change in the your own neighbourhood. Klimatspanarna focuses on our local climate goal as well as UN´s sustainable development goals.
Sharing Cities Sweden aims to put Sweden on the map as a country that actively and critically works with the sharing economy in cities. It is a national program with a budget of EUR 12 million over four years, which runs until December 2020. Sharing Cities Sweden is part of Viable Cities – a strategic innovation program for smart and sustainable cities.
The goal of the program is to develop world-leading test beds for the sharing economy in Stockholm, Gothenburg, Malmö and Umeå, and to develop a national node to significantly improve national and international cooperation and promote an exchange of experience on urban sharing. Through the test beds, sharing services and digital solutions will be developed. The opportunities and risks of the sharing economy will be tested and evaluated.
